Today was a slower day but very exciting. We actually got a little sleep last night and were greeted this morning with the ladies here in Bugabo making paper beads. Patrick and I were able to help out a little although I'm not sure how much help they thought we were.
We took a tour of a building under construction here that will be utilized as an orphanage. We also met with local pastors and elders to talk about a plan for training. They had very interesting questions and I was encouraged by their enthusiasm. They have many of the same questions we have. They struggle with the law verses the law of grace. They are worried that they aren't doing "church" right. They want to deliver the true word. So much more here to do than the two weeks will allow.
So, when you only have a limited amount of time and there is a lot of training needed what do you do? Well, first you pray for the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Not for timid things but for incredible things that can only be attributed to and explained by the care of God! Second, you grab hold of the Gospel and you preach it over and over and over again. Why??? Because Paul said it well when he said. "...it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16)
There is such a great core here and it just needs a little direction. The pastors here are just wanting to know that they are doing well. I can't wait to talk, disciple, and be discipled!!
Keep praying brothers and sisters!!!
Jason
